Your First Real English Willow. Unleash the Dark Force.
There's a moment every club batter hits: the pressed-Kashmir bat you learned on stops keeping up. The ball dies on the face, the edges are too thin to survive a thick outside edge, and you're working twice as hard for the same boundary.
The BLAK 100 is the crossing point. Genuine Grade 4 English willow, shaped with a full back profile and massive edges through the drive zone, so mistimed shots still carry and middled ones go a very long way. It's the most accessible bat in DSC's BLAK line and the one that makes the biggest difference to the person swinging it.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Grade 4 English willow: Real English willow rebound at an entry price — the ball comes off the face instead of stopping dead the way it does on pressed Kashmir.
- Full back profile: Wood concentrated behind the middle for maximum power through the ball, giving you a bat that punishes anything in the arc.
- Massive edges at the drive zone: Thick edges mean a slightly-off drive still clears the infield — the single biggest scoring difference for developing batters.
- Pronounced bow: Curved blade presents more of the face at impact, so the sweet spot finds the ball rather than the other way round.
- Round treble spring handle: Three-layer sprung cane handle absorbs shock into the grip instead of your hands on a jarring delivery.
- Hex grip fitted: Ready to knock in and play — no extra spend before your first hit.
Only 3 in stock at Cranbourne. The BLAK 100 is the volume seller of the range and the first size bracket to disappear once pre-season starts. If you're upgrading this summer, don't wait for round one.

Knocking In
Every English willow bat needs knocking in before it faces a hard ball. Work a bat mallet over the face and edges for a few hours across several sessions, building from gentle taps to firmer blows, and round the edges as you go. Follow with throw-downs using an old ball before match use. Skipping this is the most common reason a good bat cracks in its first season — and it isn't covered by warranty.
Who It's For
Juniors stepping up to senior cricket, club players moving off Kashmir willow for the first time, and anyone who wants genuine English willow performance without a premium-grade price.
