One Grade Up. A Whole Season Better.
The gap between Grade 4 and Grade 3 willow is the one most players feel immediately. Straighter grain, cleaner timber, less blemish through the middle — which translates to a bat that plays in faster, holds its ping longer, and doesn't tire by Christmas.
The BLAK 111 takes the same full back profile and huge drive-zone edges as the 100 and puts them into better wood. If you're playing every Saturday and the bat is doing real work, this is where the extra spend actually earns itself back.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Grade 3 English willow: Cleaner, straighter-grained timber than entry grades — it plays in quicker and keeps its rebound deeper into the season.
- Full back profile: Mass sitting directly behind the sweet spot, so the ball leaves the face with genuine power on both drives and pulls.
- Massive drive-zone edges: Big edges where you actually hit the ball, converting half-timed shots into boundaries instead of catching practice.
- Pronounced bow: More face presented to the ball at contact, which makes the middle feel bigger and more forgiving than the numbers suggest.
- Round treble spring handle: Sprung cane construction damps the shock from a ball off the splice, keeping your hands fresh through a long innings.
- Hex grip fitted: Comes ready to knock in and play.
Three only, and the 111 is the sweet spot of the BLAK ladder on price versus willow. Once the Grade 3 stock clears, the next step up is a hundred dollars dearer. Worth moving on.

Understanding Willow Grades
English willow is graded on appearance, not performance: grain count, straightness and the amount of natural marking through the blade. Grade 1 is the cleanest and dearest; Grade 4 carries more colour and butterfly stain. A lower grade is not a weaker bat — many players find heavily-marked willow performs beautifully — but higher grades generally play in faster and hold their rebound longer. Grade 3 is the value point for most club cricketers.
Who It's For
Regular grade and club batters who want better willow than entry level without stepping into premium pricing, and players who bat top order and put real volume through the bat each season.
