Make the Unreal Look Real. Unleash the Dark Force.
Every side has the batter who makes the difficult look ordinary — not through brute strength, but through timing and a middle wide enough to cover the moments they were improvising.
The BLAK Mirage brings DSC's Duckbill profile and Grade 2 English willow together in the BLAK range's dark livery. The shaping stretches the sweet spot along the blade rather than concentrating it in one perfect inch, so near-misses still carry.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Grade 2 English willow: Premium-tier timber with clean, straight grain — fast to play in, hard rebound, and it holds performance across seasons rather than months.
- Duckbill profile: DSC's signature shaping, engineered to extend the sweet spot and optimise weight distribution so the bat still comes through quickly.
- Thick edges: A genuinely large hitting area — the biggest single factor in turning half-timed drives into boundaries instead of catching practice.
- Thick reinforced toe: Extra material through the lower blade, where yorkers and wet grounds do their damage.
- Soft, responsive ping: Pressed for rebound, so the ball comes off the face with pace rather than dying in the blade.
- Hex grip fitted: Ready to knock in and play.
Two BLAK Mirage in this shipment. BLAK is the most recognisable livery in club cricket and the range we restock most often — but Grade 2 at this price point still clears fast.

BLAK, BLU or SPLIIT — Does the Range Matter?
Within the Mirage, Maverick and Monza models, the three ranges share the same Duckbill chassis, the same thick edges and the same willow grades. What changes is the livery and finish — BLAK runs dark and understated, BLU carries the blue colourway, SPLIIT has its own graphic identity. Performance is equivalent, so pick the range on looks and the model on willow grade.
Understanding Willow Grades
English willow is graded on appearance — grain count, straightness and the amount of natural marking through the blade. Grade 1 is cleanest and dearest; Grade 4 carries more colour and butterfly stain. A lower grade isn't a weaker bat, but higher grades generally play in faster and hold rebound longer. Grade 2, as here, sits in genuinely premium territory.
Knocking In and Care
Knock in before facing a hard ball — several hours with a mallet across multiple sessions, rounding the edges, then throw-downs with an old ball. Oil lightly two to three times a season on the face, edges and back only, never the splice or stickers. Store flat and dry, out of hot car boots.
Who It's For
Club and grade batters wanting premium willow with a forgiving middle, players who score all round the wicket, and anyone who wants the BLAK look.
