Make the Unreal Look Real.
The shot that wins a game is rarely the textbook one. It's the ball you shouldn't have been able to reach, played through a gap that wasn't there a second ago. That shot needs a blade with a sweet spot wide enough to forgive the fact you were improvising.
The SPLIIT Mirage is built on DSC's Duckbill profile — a blade shape that stretches the sweet spot rather than concentrating it in one perfect inch, with weight distribution tuned so the bat still comes through fast. Grade 2 English willow underneath, thick edges through the hitting zone, and a reinforced thick toe.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Grade 2 English willow: Premium-tier timber with clean straight grain — plays in fast, rebounds hard and holds its performance across seasons rather than months.
- Duckbill profile: DSC's signature shaping, engineered to extend the sweet spot along the blade instead of concentrating it. More of the bat does real work, which matters most when you're playing a shot you improvised.
- Thick edges: A genuinely large hitting area, so the drive you catch slightly low still carries to the rope rather than pulling up at mid-off.
- Thick reinforced toe: Extra material through the lower blade — the area that takes yorkers and wet-outfield damage, and the most common place a bat fails.
- Soft, responsive ping: Pressed for rebound rather than brute hardness, so the ball comes off the face with pace without you swinging harder.
- Hex grip fitted: Ready to knock in and play, with nothing else to buy.
Only one SPLIIT Monza, one Maverick and three Mirage landing in this shipment. The SPLIIT range gets a smaller Australian allocation than BLAK or BLU, so these move quietly and don't come back quickly.

What the Duckbill Profile Actually Does
Most bats concentrate mass in one zone and taper away sharply either side, which gives a fierce but narrow middle. The Duckbill shaping keeps depth through a longer section of the blade and redistributes the weight so the bat doesn't become unwieldy. In practice you get a sweet spot that stays effective further up and down the face — which is what a club batter actually needs, because almost nobody middles every ball.
Mirage, Maverick or Monza — Which?
All three share the same Duckbill chassis, thick edges and thick toe. The difference is purely the willow grade. Mirage is Grade 2, Maverick steps up to Grade 1, and Monza is Pro Grade — DSC's top selection. Higher grades mean cleaner, straighter grain that plays in faster and holds rebound longer. The shape and feel are consistent across all three, so you're choosing timber quality, not a different bat.
Knocking In and Care
English willow must be knocked in before facing a hard ball. Work a mallet across the face and edges for several hours over multiple sessions, rounding the edges as you go, then face throw-downs with an old ball. Oil lightly two to three times a season on the face, edges and back only — never the splice or stickers. Store flat, dry and out of hot car boots.
Who It's For
Club and grade batters who want premium willow with a forgiving middle, players who score all round the wicket, and anyone after the SPLIIT livery rather than the more common BLAK and BLU.
