The Grip GM Puts on the Rival. Sold Separately at Last.
The Apex is the grip GM specifies on its 2026 Rival range — the top of the line, and the one they reach for when the bat has to feel right out of the wrapper. It's the most expensive grip in the GM single-grip lineup, and there's a reason they don't fit it to the entry-level blades.
Premium rubber with a positive raised texture that holds your hands where you put them. Light enough not to spoil a bat's pick-up, cushioned enough to take the jar out of a quick delivery, and built to stay tacky rather than going glassy after a month in the sun.
Bulletproof Benefits
- GM's premium single grip: The grip fitted to the 2026 Rival range — the one GM chose when the bat had to feel right straight off the shelf.
- Positive raised texture: Locks into your fingers and palms so you can hold the handle lightly and still keep full control through the shot.
- Premium rubber compound: Stays tacky well past the point where cheaper grips glaze over and turn slick.
- Lightweight: Keeps the pick-up you chose your bat for, rather than adding weight at the worst end of the lever.
- Shock absorbing: Cushions the jar of a ball into the splice so your hands stay comfortable deep into a long innings.
- Three colourways: White, Rival White and Black — so it works on any bat livery you own.
Sixty in stock across three colours, and Apex is the grip players ask for by name once they've had one. At this level a grip lasts a season if you look after it — worth taking a spare.

How to Fit a New Grip
Cut the old grip off lengthways with scissors rather than rolling it — perished rubber tears. Roll the new grip onto a grip cone, slide the cone over the top of the handle, then roll the grip down under even tension so it doesn't spiral. Make sure the bottom edge finishes flush. A grip cone turns a wrestle into a thirty-second job, and we stock them.
When Should You Replace a Grip?
When the surface has gone smooth and shiny, when the rubber feels hard rather than tacky, or when you notice yourself gripping tighter to compensate. Club players batting weekly should change grips twice a season. It's the cheapest change you can make to how a bat feels.
Who It's For
Players who want the best grip GM makes, batters facing genuine pace who want shock absorption without bulk, and GM Rival owners replacing a worn original.
