The KL Rahul Series. Built for Players Who Travel With Everything.
There's a specific kind of cricketer this bag is for. You keep wicket or you open the batting. You carry three bats because you've got a match blade, a net blade and a spare. You own a helmet you paid properly for. And every week you cram it all into a bag that was never designed to hold it, then spend the drive home wondering what's pressing against what.
The SG KLR Wheelie Trunk comes from SG's KL Rahul Series — the signature range carrying the India opener's initials. It's a genuine rigid trunk: three individually cushioned bat slots, a soft valet-lined interior, and a sealed Dry Vault and insulated Cool Vault so the things that must stay dry and the things that must stay cold each get their own home.
Bulletproof Benefits
- SG KL Rahul Series: The KLR line is SG's signature range built around their long-standing association with India opener KL Rahul — the same badge that runs across their player-grade bats and gloves.
- Three individually cushioned bat slots: Three separate padded channels, so your match bat isn't riding against your net bat for an entire season. Edges stay sharp, stickers stay on.
- Insulated Cool Vault: Keeps a bottle or ice pack genuinely cold for hours, not minutes. On a 38-degree February Saturday this is the compartment you'll use every week — and the one almost no competing bag includes.
- Sealed Dry Vault: A separated compartment that keeps phone, keys, wallet and spare inners well away from the wet towel and damp kit that go back in after a game.
- Protective valet lining: Soft cushioned lining right through the main compartment, so helmet grilles, buckles and spikes can't score a bat face or a pad front in transit.
- Removable fibre wall: Leave it in for a rigid, compartmentalised trunk, or pull it out for one big open space when you're carrying awkward gear. Structure on demand.
- Separate shoe cavity: Muddy spikes stay fully isolated from your whites — an external compartment, not a flimsy internal divider.
- Leatherette and matty fabric: A premium, hard-wearing shell that handles boot wells, concrete and clubhouse floors, and wipes clean instead of staining.
- Wheeled with pull handle: The load rides on the ground across the car park, not on one shoulder.
Signature-series trunks don't get restocked quickly. The KLR line runs in limited allocations into Australia, and at $349 for a full rigid trunk with both vaults it sits well under what comparable player-series bags sell for.

KLR or 22 Yards — Which Trunk?
We stock both SG wheelie trunks and they share the same build: rigid frame, three cushioned bat slots, Dry Vault, Cool Vault, shoe cavity and removable fibre wall. The difference is the badge and the styling. The KLR carries SG's KL Rahul Series branding and livery; the 22 Yards is SG's own-name flagship trunk. Buy on which look you prefer — the protection and the compartments are the same, and so is the price.
Why a Trunk Instead of a Wheelie Duffle?
A wheelie duffle is a soft bag on wheels — lighter and more forgiving in a small boot, but it sags under load and your gear settles into one pile at the bottom. A trunk is built on a rigid frame: it holds its shape, stands upright, stacks in a car and keeps every item in its own space. Bats stay in bat slots instead of grinding against a helmet. If you own good gear and want it to stay good, the trunk is the upgrade — the cost is a few extra kilograms of bag.
What Fits Inside
A full senior kit: three bats in the dedicated slots, batting pads, gloves, helmet, thigh and arm guards, abdominal guard, spare whites and a jumper — with spikes isolated in the shoe cavity, valuables sealed in the Dry Vault and a frozen bottle in the Cool Vault. Pull the fibre wall out and there's room for keeping pads and inners as well.
Who It's For
Senior club and grade cricketers running a full kit, keepers and all-rounders carrying more gear than everyone else, players who've already destroyed a soft duffle, and anyone who wants the KL Rahul Series badge on their bag.
