50 Overs. Still Round. Still Swinging.
Every club knows the ritual. Someone opens the ball bag, tips it out, and everyone stares at eight misshapen lumps with the seam flattened out of them. Half went soft in the first twenty overs. Two soaked up the dew and doubled in weight. The one decent ball gets saved for the firsts and everyone else trains with rubbish.
The SG Super 50 is built to end that. A waterproof leatherette shell shrugs off dew and damp outfields instead of drinking them, and precision machine stitching holds the seam and the shape for a full fifty overs. Consistent bounce, consistent hardness, ball after ball, box after box.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Engineered for 50+ overs: Holds hardness and shape across a full one-day innings, so the ball you finish with still behaves like the one you started with.
- Fully waterproof leatherette: Doesn't absorb moisture the way leather does — no swelling, no sodden weight gain on dewy mornings or damp outfields. Ideal for Melbourne winters and early-season tracks.
- Machine-stitched seam: Uniform, precisely-set stitching gives bowlers a proper seam to grip and hold, so swing and seam movement stay available deep into the innings.
- Retains spherical integrity: Keeps its shape instead of going oval, which is what kills bounce consistency and makes a ball useless for batting practice.
- Batch-to-batch consistency: Uniform bounce, seam and hardness across every ball, so your net sessions actually replicate match conditions.
- White for limited-overs cricket: Purpose-made for T20, one-day and night fixtures, and for training under lights.
- Leatherette over leather: Far longer training life at a fraction of the cost — the sensible economics for clubs buying by the dozen.
24 in stock, and at $20 against an RRP of $45 this is the cheapest way to restock a club ball bag this season. Balls at this price move in bulk — if you're kitting out a squad, take what you need now.

4-Piece vs 2-Piece — What's the Difference?
A 4-piece ball is built from four quarters of material stitched together, the same construction used for senior match balls. A 2-piece uses two halves and is cheaper to make but goes out of shape faster and offers a less consistent seam. For senior cricket and any serious training, 4-piece is what you want — it holds its shape longer and gives bowlers a seam that behaves predictably.
Leatherette or Leather — Which Should You Buy?
Genuine leather balls are required for most graded match play and offer the truest seam and swing, but they're expensive, absorb water and wear quickly in the nets. Leatherette balls like the Super 50 are synthetic: waterproof, far more durable, and a fraction of the price. Use leather for match day and leatherette for everything else — training, junior cricket, indoor and social games. Check your association's rules before using a synthetic ball in a graded fixture.
Who It's For
Clubs restocking the training ball bag, coaches running net sessions and throw-downs, junior and social competitions, and anyone who wants a ball that survives more than a fortnight.
