Six Sixes in an Over Is a Bat Doing Its Job.
Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes off one over at the 2007 World T20 and was Player of the Tournament when India won the 2011 World Cup. Those innings share a quality that has nothing to do with strength: the ball kept finding the middle of a bat that came through the line fast and arrived square.
The SS Legend Yuvraj Singh is the Legend Series blade named in his honour. Hand-selected Grade 1 English willow, air-dried and seasoned, shaped to a profile with a genuinely large sweet spot and the balance to let you swing hard without the bat dictating the terms.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Hand-selected Grade 1 English willow: Top-grade timber — straight, tight, clean grain that plays in fastest and holds its rebound for years rather than months.
- Air-dried and naturally seasoned: Slow natural drying builds resilience into the cleft, so the blade stays lively instead of going brittle.
- Large sweet spot: A wide hitting zone that keeps not-quite-middled shots carrying — which is exactly what separates a caught-at-deep-midwicket from a six.
- Optimised balance and pick-up: Comes through the swing quickly, so you generate bat speed rather than hauling weight into position.
- Outstanding ping: Premium pressing delivers real rebound off the face — the ball leaves fast even when you haven't swung your hardest.
- Semi-oval handle: A flat reference edge for the bottom hand, so the face stays square when you commit to a big shot.
- Premium bat cover included: Proper protection supplied with the bat.
One only — Grade 1, 2.9 – 2.10, semi-oval handle. Legend Series blades are individually selected and arrive in Australia in single figures. This exact bat will not be repeatable.

Does Grain Count Actually Matter?
It matters less than most buyers think. More grains generally means older, slower-grown timber that plays in faster but can have a shorter peak; fewer, wider grains usually means younger wood that takes longer to open up but lasts longer once it does. Between roughly six and twelve straight grains you are well within the range that performs. Grain count is largely a grading and appearance measure — pick-up and pressing matter far more to how a bat actually plays.
Semi-Oval or Round Handle?
A round handle allows the hands to rotate freely and suits wristy players who work the ball square and adjust late. A semi-oval handle is flattened on one side, giving the bottom hand a definite reference so the bat face stays where you set it — the usual preference for players who hit straight and hard.
Preparing a Grade 1 Bat
Knock in properly before any hard-ball use — six to eight hours with a mallet across multiple sessions, building gradually and rounding the edges, then throw-downs with an old ball. Fit a toe guard and edge tape from the start. Oil lightly two to three times a season on the face, edges and back only, never the splice or stickers. Store flat and dry, out of hot cars. A properly prepared Grade 1 blade will outlast several cheaper bats.
Who It's For
Aggressive middle-order batters, white-ball players who need to score at pace, and anyone who wants a Legend Series bat in the best willow SS offers.
