Protection You'll Actually Keep Wearing.
Most arm guards get taken off. The straps loosen, the pad creeps round to the wrong side of the forearm, a raised seam saws at your inner arm, and by the tenth over it's in the kit bag — which is exactly when a ball lifts and finds you.
The Versant GC takes the straps out of the equation entirely. It's a sleeve-style pull-on guard with DTO foam and fibre-reinforced shielding built in — so it fits like a second skin, stays precisely where you put it, and still absorbs a genuine blow.
Bulletproof Benefits
- DTO foam with fibre-reinforced shielding: Layered protection that absorbs high-impact blows rather than just cushioning them — this is a genuine protective guard, not a compression sleeve with a logo.
- Sleeve-style, no straps: Slides on and grips the forearm. Nothing to loosen mid-over, nothing to re-tighten between balls, and no buckle digging into your arm.
- Stays where you put it: The ergonomic fit holds the shielding over the bone for a full innings instead of migrating toward your wrist — the failure that makes most arm guards useless by the time they matter.
- Genuinely lightweight: Light enough that you forget you're wearing it, which is the real test — protection only works if it's still on your arm.
- Breathable construction: Designed to stay comfortable through long innings in heat rather than turning into a sweatband.
- Youth and adult sizes: Properly sized rather than one-size-fits-nobody.
An arm guard costs a fraction of what a forearm fracture costs you in missed cricket. Limited stock in Navy and Black across youth and adult — and the sizes that cover most players go first.

Sleeve-Style or Strapped — Which Is Better?
A strapped arm guard is adjustable and easy to put on over a long sleeve, but straps loosen with movement and the guard rotates around the arm. A sleeve-style guard pulls on like a compression sleeve and grips the forearm along its whole length, so the protection stays located over the bone. The trade-off is that you must get the size right, because there's no adjustment — and you put it on before your shirt sleeve, not after.
Which Arm Does It Go On?
Your top arm — the one closest to the bowler, which takes the blow when a ball rears off a length. For a right-hand batter that's the left forearm; for a left-hander, the right. It sits on the outside of the forearm between elbow and wrist. If you're buying one guard, this is the arm that needs it.
Getting the Size Right
Measure around the widest part of your forearm just below the elbow. Because this is a pull-on sleeve with no straps, fit matters more than on a strapped guard: it should be snug enough that it doesn't slide down when you play a shot, without restricting circulation. Youth suits juniors and smaller-framed players; Adult covers most senior club cricketers. If you're between sizes, size down — a loose sleeve guard migrates, and a migrated guard protects nothing.
Who It's For
Club and grade batters facing genuine pace, juniors moving up to a harder ball, players who have abandoned strapped arm guards because they never stayed put, and anyone who has already taken one on the forearm.
