A Cool Drink at the 40-Over Mark. In an Australian Summer, That's Not a Gimmick.
You know the walk. Forty degrees, car park half a kilometre from the ground, bag over one shoulder cutting into your collarbone, two bats under the other arm because they wouldn't fit. By the time you get to the rooms you're already cooked, your drink bottle is the temperature of tea, and the ice pack you brought for your knee is water.
The SG 22 Yard X2 fixes the whole trip. It rolls on two large wheels instead of hanging off your shoulder, swallows four bats — three inside and one in an external sleeve — and carries an insulated cool zone that keeps an ice pack or water genuinely cold for hours, not minutes. For cricket played in an Australian summer, that last feature is the one you'll actually use every single week.
Bulletproof Benefits
- Insulated cool zone: A dedicated insulated compartment that keeps an ice pack frozen or a drink cold through a long day in the field. Almost no cricket bag at this price has one, and in a 38-degree January it's the difference between a usable ice pack at stumps and a bag of warm water.
- Four bats — 3 inside, 1 outside: Three full-size bats in the main compartment plus an external bat sleeve. That's the whole arsenal plus a spare, without anything travelling loose in the car.
- Two large wheels and a telescopic trolley handle: The load goes on the ground instead of your shoulder. Anyone who has carried a full kit across a long car park already knows why this matters.
- 'C' shape full opening: The main compartment opens right out so you can see and reach everything at once — no more unpacking the whole bag on the change-room floor to find one glove.
- Padded side walls: Structural padding that protects pads, helmet and bats from the knocks of a boot well and a clubhouse floor, and stops the bag collapsing when half empty.
- HDPE base with TPU strips: A rigid reinforced base that keeps the bag standing upright and stable on grass, gravel and concrete, and takes the abrasion that wears through ordinary bag bottoms.
- Separate external shoe pocket: Muddy, grassy spikes stay completely outside the main compartment, so your whites and pads stay clean.
- Water-resistant premium fabric: Sheds a wet outfield and a sudden shower instead of soaking it up and staying damp all week.
- SG customised zips and runners: Heavy-duty hardware — because the zip is what fails first on almost every cricket bag ever made.
- Bartack reinforced stitching: Extra stitching at every stress point, which is where a loaded kit bag tears.
- Gusseted and mesh pockets: Expandable side storage plus a dedicated mesh pocket for a water bottle or umbrella.
The 22 Yard X2 is SG's best-value trolley bag and it moves fastest in the weeks before round one. At $169.99 for a four-bat wheelie with an insulated compartment, it undercuts nearly everything comparable on the market — and we don't hold deep stock on bags this size.

Wheelie or Duffle — Which Should You Buy?
A wheelie bag carries the weight for you and is the obvious choice once you're running a full senior kit: bats, pads, gloves, helmet, shoes and spares add up to well over 15 kg, and no shoulder enjoys that across a car park. The trade-off is a little extra weight from the wheels and frame, and you need a reasonably flat surface. A duffle is lighter and easier to throw in a small boot, which suits juniors and anyone carrying a partial kit. If you own a helmet and more than two bats, buy the wheelie.
What Actually Fits Inside
At 80 x 30 x 30 cm this comfortably takes a full senior kit: three bats internally plus one in the outside sleeve, batting pads, gloves, a helmet, thigh guards, an abdominal guard, spare whites and a jumper — with your spikes isolated in the external shoe pocket and your drink bottle in the mesh pocket. The insulated zone handles an ice pack or a frozen bottle without wetting the rest of your gear.
Who It's For
Senior club and grade cricketers carrying a full kit every weekend, all-rounders and keepers with extra gear, juniors stepping up to a complete kit, and anyone who has decided they are finished carrying 15 kilos on one shoulder.
